This location was most suitable out of all three locations I looked at.
This was due to it being the most convincing location as a lodge that a New Years party was being held at.
The connotations of a location like this especially at night, suggest that something mysterious and thrilling
could possibly happen. The idea of it being haunted or occupied by a serial killer for example
is very realistic.
This location was the biggest out of all three locations, however, it was too reflective to use in a film
where the main shots weren't reflective ones. I believe that this location would not be able
to create the same atmosphere as Location 1 and would not build tension in the same way.
Props
Party Popper
The use of this prop is to highlight that the majority of the film is set during a New Years party. The thought behind
the use of this prop signified a party and also emphasised it. The sound that it created also helped
create a sudden shock/jump to the audience.
Gun
The use of this prop was solely to be the object that created the most fear and built
tension which was aimed at the audience.
Torch
The use of this prop was to try to identify the shadow that was standing behind Sam and Geraldine.
The effect of this was to highlight the element of mystery to the audience by showing the them that one
of the characters could sense something wasn't right. This then makes the audience realise
that the shadow they saw maybe seen when the torch is used. By doing this the audience then may start
to wonder what the person looked like that was the shadow in the earlier scene.

Little Girl - Paige
Description…
The little girl has mid length brown hair with hazel coloured eyes.
She was 13 years old when she was brutally murdered in the lodge,
when she is briefly left alone whilst her parents,
had temporarily left the lodge to get some food from the local shop.
Murderer - Michael
Description…
The murderer, Michael is a man who tries to disguise his identity with dark clothing.
He is 25 years old and recently divorced.
He has dark brown hair and brown eyes.
On the night that he killed Paige he had been walking in the forest after being banned,
from a pub 4 miles away for assaulting another man whilst being under the influence of alcohol.
Erica
Description…
Erica is 27 years old and has brown hair and blue eyes.
She is a primary school teacher and has been for the last 2 years.
Erica met Emma at University.
She is currently in a relationship with a lawyer who is 28 years old.
Erica was originally meant to spend New Year’s Eve with her partner in London,
but he was stuck in New York after spending Christmas with his family
and due to the mass amount of snow received over Christmas, the airport was shut till for a few days.
Erica then quickly decided to through a last minute New Year’s Eve party
and told Emma to invite anyone she knew who didn’t already have plans.
Alan
Description…
Alan is 32 years old.
He has light brown hair and green eyes.
He currently works as an IT technician and is best friends with Raj.
Alan originally was meant to spend New Year’s Eve with his girlfriend
but two days before she ended the relationship and Raj had convinced him to go to the party.
Emma
Description…
Emma is 26 years old and is currently in a relationship with a marine.
She has brown hair and green eyes.
She currently works as an English teacher and met Erica at University,
this is due to their shared interest in English.
Emma was originally meant to spend New Year’s Eve with her partner
but he was unable to come home for the Christmas and New Year period.
Emma and Erica were out one evening when Erica suggested a last minute New Year’s Eve party.
She has one stepbrother, Raj who she invited to the New Year’s Eve party.
Raj
Description…
Raj is single and 32 years old.
He currently works as a car mechanic and has black hair and green eyes.
Originally Raj had planned to spend New Year’s Eve alone,
however,
his stepsister, Emma had invited him to Erica’s New Year’s Eve party.
He then persuaded his bestfriend, Alan to go to the party,
to take his mind off of his ex-girlfriend ending their relationship.
Changes in Plan
After finishes the rough edit of my film 'Midnight Fright'
I decided that the narrative devices used throughout were not strong enough
to make the film successful to an audience. The narrative was hard to follow and understand
and would need a lot of improvement such as change of location and redrafting of the script
to be able to make it easier for the audience to follow the story.
Due to this I changed my film idea completely and came up with a new script, storyboard and location
which lead me to then filming the new script, I named this film 'Paranoia'. This film is located both
on the beach and in a house. I feel these locations were more realistic than the location used
in 'Midnight Fright'.

Day 1
8:00pm - Actors meet at location 1 (the beach)
8:10pm - Actors have a read through together with the script and
question any concerns about filming, or the script etc.
8:30pm - Actors get into costumes etc.
8:45pm - Actors get in position to shoot scene 1 (the conversation between Sam and Geraldine)
8:55pm - Shoot scene 2 (Sarah's shadow)
8:58pm - Shoot scene 3 (Sam and Geraldine are still having a conversation
however, Sarah (Sam's ex-wife who he killed) is now stood behind them)
